CRADLE was Founded by artist, musician and educator Zane Morris in 2019 during his tenure at the book binding and archival supply company Talas. primarily fulfilling book cloth orders and custom cutting paper at talas, zane collected scrap to make his own notebooks and sketchbooks to his preferences. Upon refining the design and sharing his work with peers and friends, Cradle sales have functioned as a means of subsidizing music experiences with youth and community in Brooklyn, the bronx and harlem. Having begun as a pragmatic means of utilizing scrap, Cradle has blossomed into a small business which tethers design utilizing recycled materials to experiences which empower agency and experimentation through music. Every Cradle notebook sold provides facilitator support, fundraising for supplies and economic means which enable independent events that promote experimental music.
